Lorinda Hoover, Pastor
Lorinda was appointed as pastor of Glidden UMC starting July 1, 2011.  She has served churches in Lehigh, Otho, Grand Junction, and Pocahontas.  She currently lives in Rockwell City, where her husband Jim Mossman serves St. Paul Lutheran and First Presbyterian churches.  Lorinda loves studying the Bible, alone and with others.  She enjoys developing and leading worship services.  She also loves to sit and chat about just about anything.  She has a wide range of interests, including scrapbooking, birdwatching, foreign languages, medicine, cooking, and Macintosh computers.  Lorinda spends part of each day in prayer for the members of Glidden UMC, the community of Glidden, and the needs of our wider world.  Lorinda also has responsibility for preaching, worship, teaching adult Sunday School, and providing pastoral care to members.

 

Jill Neas is beginning her second year of leading the Sunday School program at Glidden UMC.  She has been active in the church for 10 years.  She is a certified teacher with certifications and experience at all levels of education from birth through 12th grade. We use the curriculum titled Living Inside Out for age 3-grade 5.  We are beginning a class for toddlers which will use a play based curriculum to introduce the youngest church members to the stories of the bible.  Our middle school and high school class has been using a book to guide discussions and may be changing the curriculum to a more focused program for the 2010-2011 school year.  Our adult class has been studying the books of the bible and is lead by Pastor Lorinda. We hope you join us when Sunday School gets started again in the fall.

 

Stacie Daily serves at Glidden UMC with a passionate heart. Vacation Bible School 2011 will allow all ages to enjoy learning and growing in Christ. Nazareth, Where Jesus was a Kid, is the theme for VBS 2011. Participants of all ages will enjoy praise and worship songs, hearing stories from Jesus' mom Mary, and seeing animals that were apart of Jesus' childhood. Sunday July 10th-Thursday 14th 2011 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. is 2011 VBS for all ages, Nazareth, Where Jesus was a Kid; mark your calendars and sign up! Stacie enjoys, spending time with her family, volunteering in the community, and operating an in-home child care. Sunday evenings you can find her and her family enjoying CHAOS, no not chaos. CHAOS: Christ Has All Our Solutions. CHAOS is a pre-teen group for 9-12 year olds. Join us Sunday evening 5:30-7:00 p.m. for a time to learn what God has in store for you, sing and praise God, and serving others through Christ!
